Literacy Leap is a DVD which demonstrates for parents what reading to children at home looks like. Positive examples of predicting, prompting for strategies, checking for comprehension, etc. are demonstrated. The DVD starts with preschoolers, shows emergent and fluent readers and ends with a short section on selecting books for young readers. This is a great tool for parent programs, lending libraries and new teacher training.

You are your child’s first reading teacher. Literacy Leap is dedicated to providing home coaches real world, proven teaching skills and tools to enrich your child’s literacy. Our mission is to show you how children learn to read and give you tips on how to guide them through the process.

We offer a parent workshop, "Before and Beyond Sound it Out," and an educational video to empower you to help your child's reading.
